The main character in this story is Carol Taylor, who has just watched her father die in hospital。 She has just started to live her life after a long and nasty divorce with her ex-husband ad her four grown up children are all living their own lives, tired of all the nasty stuff that took place during the three years the divorce ending up taking。 She let her ex-husband have everything, but he still wasn’t happy with what he got, it seemed he wanted to ruin her completely, before he would be happy The main character in this story is Carol Taylor, who has just watched her father die in hospital。 She has just started to live her life after a long and nasty divorce with her ex-husband ad her four grown up children are all living their own lives, tired of all the nasty stuff that took place during the three years the divorce ending up taking。 She let her ex-husband have everything, but he still wasn’t happy with what he got, it seemed he wanted to ruin her completely, before he would be happy。 Just before her dad died, he told her to go back to his home at Chesapeake Bay, but she thought it was far too late, as he usually rented it out over the holidays。 What he tells her next, is that he has booked it for her and her four children, to spend a Christmas together, like they used to。 Her kids, Jared the eldest and an auctioneer, Hudson a writer and his wife Lillian who hates his family and doesn’t like to see any of them and their three boys, Harrison, Hadley and Hawk, another son Lucas, a baseball sports agent, then the one daughter, the baby of the family Mia, who worked from home designing her own clothes and selling online。 They have all kept in touch with her by phone, as her father was in hospital, but she dissuaded them from visiting, with their busy lives and not wanting to pull them away。Now she has a whole month available at the house in Chesapeake Bay for Christmas and when she tries to invite them to come for the holidays, they are all too busy with their lives to make it。 She packs up and makes the journey to the bay and is surprised to find her father’s house completely lit up with Christmas decorations, but with no idea who could have done it for her arrival。 She loves it but notices a few lights not working at the top by the roofline and decides to try and fix it herself the next day。 She ends up falling off the ladder and in hospital with a head injury and lots of bruising and Mia is called as her emergency contact by Dr Reynolds Alto, her doctor。 One of her kids is just two hours away from her, so Mia rings around her brothers to see if any of them will go and see if their mother is ok, but they all cry off and she feels she has to go herself, even though she resents it。 Each of her grown up children gets drawn to the bay in unusual circumstances and romance abounds。 There is not just one romance in this tale, but a multitude! A special letter from the past is a lovely touch and shows the true depth of love and loss。 This Christmas looks like it could be a special one, but only of the rest of her family come and stay with her, to make it complete and fulfil her wishes, as well as her late fathers。 Someone tries to take it all away from her and that is the final nail in the coffin for them and the best catalyst for a family get together。 A lovely story of family, loss, fighting for what is worth it, and the importance of reconnecting。 A very positive storyline, with enough romance for everybody! I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above。 。。。more

Fabulous Christmas story by Coral Harper。 This book is a stand alone。 Carol Taylor's family had been through a lot。 From her ex husband trying to take her inheritance, to accidents, to marriage problems and to new friends。 Coral has a way with telling a story, it's a heartwarming, clean, sweet romance。 I was given this advanced copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily。 Fabulous Christmas story by Coral Harper。 This book is a stand alone。 Carol Taylor's family had been through a lot。 From her ex husband trying to take her inheritance, to accidents, to marriage problems and to new friends。 Coral has a way with telling a story, it's a heartwarming, clean, sweet romance。 I was given this advanced copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily。 。。。more

This book was a beautiful tale of family and love。  I really liked the main character, Carol Taylor, whose dad left her a house on the Chesapeake Bay。  Her only wish was to have her four grown children come there for Christmas。  Unfortunately they were all too busy with work to venture there。  What happened next was a tender, touching story full of surprises, family, love, and second chances。 This was truly a special story by this author。  I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly This book was a beautiful tale of family and love。  I really liked the main character, Carol Taylor, whose dad left her a house on the Chesapeake Bay。  Her only wish was to have her four grown children come there for Christmas。  Unfortunately they were all too busy with work to venture there。  What happened next was a tender, touching story full of surprises, family, love, and second chances。 This was truly a special story by this author。  I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review。 。。。more

I am a big fan of Coral Harper and I have to say this is her best book yet。 Once I started it, I couldn't put it down。 I read it in one day。Carol is divorced and just lost her father。 He rented a house on the Chesapeske Bay, where they used to spend time as a family, hoping her kids would come for Christmas and re-ignite their previous closeness。 Carol invited her four grown children to come but all had excuses why they couldn't make it。 Carol found out her father had bought the house and left i I am a big fan of Coral Harper and I have to say this is her best book yet。 Once I started it, I couldn't put it down。 I read it in one day。Carol is divorced and just lost her father。 He rented a house on the Chesapeske Bay, where they used to spend time as a family, hoping her kids would come for Christmas and re-ignite their previous closeness。 Carol invited her four grown children to come but all had excuses why they couldn't make it。 Carol found out her father had bought the house and left it to her。 A car accident and later her ex husband trying to take " his share of the house", brought her kids to the Bay to be with their Mom。 The book really stirred my emotions。 There was sadness for Carol being all alone, and later much happiness as romances blossomed for several family members。 A surprising Christmas celebration and a beautiful wedding brought joy to the family。 What a lovely story to be enjoyed any time of the year。 I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily。 。。。more
